About Zena Suri Alpacas

Hi, Zena Suri Alpacas has moved from the historic house in the Avenues section of Salt Lake City, Utah to Zena (Jay) Oklahoma. Salt Lake City is beautiful in many ways, but you can’t raise alpacas in the middle of the city. So we traded this:

The Avenues, Salt Lake City, Utah

The Avenues, Salt Lake City, Utah

for this:

Zena Suri Alpacas: house, barn, field and some of the alpacas

Zena Suri Alpacas: house, barn, field and some of the alpacas

We still have a half dozen or so alpacas living in Wanship, Utah, but 26 are now here at Zena.

Tom and I and the alpacas are enjoying life “in the middle of nowhere.” He swims and teaches political science and I bask in the glow of alpacadom. Life is rough, we go to shows around the country; we have to breathe fresh air; my commute is down a flight of steps to the barn.

We have joined the local Chamber of Commerce and the Grand Lake Association and we have to live in an area proclaimed one of the best places to retire in the U.S. Grove opened a new state-of-the-art hospital at the end of January and…  Gee, Life is Good.
